This template helps organizers (streamers and servers) publish the rules of a giveaway run with RecheBot. Copy the text, fill in the fields marked [like this] and publish it in your server before opening the giveaway, for example in a rules channel or linked from the giveaway message.
This is an indicative model, not legal or tax advice. The organizer is responsible for adapting it and for complying with the rules that apply to them. If the prize is valuable or you run giveaways often, consult a professional. The template is written for organizers subject to Spanish law; the Spanish version prevails.
Organizer
The giveaway is organized by [full name or company name], tax ID [tax ID], address [address] (hereinafter "the Organizer"), through the Discord server [server name]. Contact: [email or contact channel].
The giveaway is run with the RecheBot tool, which is not the organizer of the giveaway nor responsible for the prize. This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Discord or Valve.
Prize
[number] prize(s) will be given away: [exact skin name, condition or wear and, where relevant, float or stickers], with an approximate value of [amount] euros according to [price source, for example the Steam Community Market] on the date of publication.
The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item. The Organizer declares that the prize belongs to them and can be delivered by Steam trade.
Dates
Entries are open from [start date and time] until [closing date and time], mainland Spain time. The giveaway is resolved automatically at close.
Free entry
Entry is free. No purchase, payment, donation or paid subscription is required, and there is no way to obtain additional entries. Each person may enter only once.
Requirements
To enter you must:
- be at least 14 to enter and be over 18 to receive the prize: the Organizer will check it before delivery and may ask for reasonable proof of age;
- be a member of the server [server name] and follow its rules;
- [optional: have role X];
- [optional: have been in the server for at least N days];
- [optional: have a Steam account verified with RecheBot, with one entry per Steam account and a minimum account age of N days];
- have a Steam account able to receive trades.
[optional: server staff and the Organizer may not enter]. Requirements are checked on entry and again at close.
Mechanics and winner selection
To enter, press the "Participar" button on the giveaway message in Discord. When the giveaway is created, RecheBot generates a seed with a cryptographic random number generator and publishes its SHA-256 hash. At close, it reveals the seed and draws the winner or winners from the entries that meet the requirements.
Anyone can review the giveaway on its public transparency page: https://rechebot.rechedev.cloud/sorteos/[giveaway ID]. The process is explained at https://rechebot.rechedev.cloud/docs/sorteos.
Notification and acceptance of the prize
The result is announced in the giveaway channel and RecheBot sends the winner a direct message asking for their Steam Trade URL (it can also be saved with the /trade-url command). The winner has [for example, 72 hours] to provide it and to prove they are of age if asked.
If they do not do so within that time, do not meet the requirements or decline the prize, the Organizer will redraw it with the same mechanism among the remaining participants.
Delivery
The Organizer will send the prize by hand, through a Steam trade offer, within [for example, 7 days] of the winner providing their Trade URL. Temporary trade holds applied by Steam may delay delivery.
RecheBot does not send prizes. Neither the Organizer nor RecheBot will ever ask for your Steam password, Steam Guard codes, or for you to sign in on pages other than Steam's official ones.
Tax
The Organizer bears any tax obligations that apply to it. Under Spanish personal income tax (IRPF) rules, prizes from draws worth more than 300 euros are subject to a payment on account that the payer must make. For the winner, the prize is a capital gain that they may have to include in their income tax return even if its value is lower. [optional: adjust to the Organizer's and winner's residence].
The Organizer is responsible for checking whether its giveaway requires any notification or levy under applicable gambling rules (national or regional).
Exclusions and fraud
The Organizer may exclude anyone who enters with multiple accounts, uses bots or automated programs, impersonates another person, manipulates or tries to manipulate the giveaway, or breaches these rules or the server's rules. If the exclusion affects a winner, the prize will be redrawn.
Data protection
Controller: the Organizer (details in the Organizer section). Processor: Luis Reche, provider of RecheBot, under its data processing agreement.
Data and purpose: your Discord ID and the time of your entry, to run the giveaway; if you win, your Steam Trade URL, to deliver the prize, and any proof of age you are asked for, solely to check it. If the giveaway requires Steam verification, also your SteamID64.
Publication: so the giveaway can be verified, your Discord ID and the time of your entry are published on the giveaway's transparency page, and the winner's ID appears next to the delivery status. Usernames and Steam data are not published.
Legal basis: your participation in the giveaway under these rules (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and the legitimate interest in the giveaway being verifiable (Article 6(1)(f)).
Retention: [for example, until the prize is delivered and the period for possible claims has passed]. If you request erasure, your entry in giveaways already closed is pseudonymised so the result remains verifiable.
Rights: you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection with the Organizer at [contact], or use RecheBot's /privacidad command. Acceptance and changes
Entering implies accepting these rules. The Organizer may only change them for a justified reason, without harming participants, and will publish the change in the same place as the rules. If the giveaway cannot take place for reasons beyond the Organizer's control, it may cancel it and will announce this in the server.
Governing law
These rules are governed by Spanish law. Participants who are consumers keep the rights and jurisdiction granted to them by applicable law.
